Scale : the Scale is an ancient materiel that seems like any other. At all times, it had simulate the mens' imagination. The Scale is the dog-eared materiel wich recovers the boddy of the turtles by 24 plates. The most used in marquetry comes from the " chelone-imbricata " specie named caret turtle.

Ebony : caved wood generaly black and beige. Can be composed from threads, marbred, composed with tight squalls wich seem a great end work.
Mozambic ebony is knowned since Antiquity. Professionnals have tired from this wood the "name of ebonist". It's really hard to find some now.

Marquetery : the Art of marquetery is really ancient, we can convice ourself of the perfectionist degre.
the ebonist heard "opening of placings" the built in wich he will use the wood, the scale and some different materials, such as copper, tain etc...

Frame : this terme represents the whole profiles or elements wich contains a part of this plan. It can be architectural, pictural, as true as it's a mirror or any other obect. In a general way, the frame has to isolate or protect.

Marble and hard stone : the marbles are calcareous boulder, to witch we attribute wealth, luxe, eternity. Hard stones are solid minerals, wich are particulary beautifull due to they beauty, rarity, hardness, and light refraction.

Chequer and billow : they are name the wood's mark done by a graver, an iron of jointer or of plane after every each passage. Ornament of billowed lines, interlaced, with symmetry profilings.

Polychrome : Qualifies "that paint using many colors", art terme and by extension, employend to definie an object with many colors.

Primitive : "temporel value wich is origin, wich belongs to the first state of things" est appelé Primitive : painter or sculptor wich was before the french Rebirth.

Gilding, silvered : the art to use gold, silver and copper.
Technic : with water or oil, in leaf or in dust on many materials, metals, skin, wood, plaster of grindin…
